The Great Adventure

Many animals live at the zoo.

But there are two special animals at this one.
Diamond is a raccoon. Her brother is Sunny.
Today, Diamond and Sunny are bored.
“Let’s have an adventure!” said Sunny.
So the two sneaky raccoons escaped!
“But we’re still all alone,” said Diamond.
“We need to find a friend to have an adventure,” said Sunny.
They walked all the way across the zoo to the bird house.
They met Quarry, the owl.
“Do you want to have an adventure?” they asked him.
“Only if you can fly like me,” replied Quarry.
Sunny and Diamond tried to fly, but raccoons can’t fly.

“Maybe you can see if the penguins want to have an adventure. They can’t fly,” said Quarry.
So the two raccoons had to jump down into the penguin enclosure.
They met Edward the penguin.
“Do you want to have an adventure?” they asked him.
“Only if you can swim, like me,” replied Edward.
Raccoons can swim, but it was too cold to stay for long!

“Maybe you can see if the cheetahs want to have an adventure. They live where it’s hot,” said Edward.
So Sunny and Diamond waded over a creek to find the cheetahs.
They met Jordan, the cheetah.
“Do you want to have an adventure?” they asked him.
“Only if you can run as fast as me!” replied Jordan.
But raccoons can’t run as fast as a cheetah!
“Maybe you can see if the elephants want to have an adventure. They can’t run as fast as me,” said Jordan.
So Sunny and Diamond climbed over a tall wall to get to the elephants.
They met Olympic, the elephant.
“Do you want to have an adventure?” they asked him.
“Only if you’re as strong as me!” replied Olympic.
Diamond and Sunny tried to lift the heaviest things they could find, but raccoons can’t lift like an elephant.
“Maybe you can see if the polar bear wants to have an adventure. He doesn’t have a trunk to help him lift,” said Olympic.
Diamond and Sunny had to break into the polar bear house.
They met Fortress, the polar bear.
“Do you want to have an adventure?” they asked him.
But he was too hungry to play!
So Sunny and Diamond had to run away!
They ran to Admiral, the orangutan.
“Do you want to have an adventure?” they asked him.
“It’s getting late, I think you should go home to sleep,” said Admiral.
The raccoons didn’t want to end the day without an adventure.
But by this time it was getting dark, so they had to go home.
“It’s too bad we didn’t have an adventure,” said Sunny.
“But remember all those things we did? We escaped and we jumped and we swam and we climbed and we lifted and we ran and we stayed up late! We did a lot of things today!” said Diamond.
“So I guess we did have an adventure!” said Sunny.
And with that they happily went to sleep after a long day.
The end.
